Background:
Safety in Numbers is inspired by the phrase “it takes a village to raise a child”. It’s a reminder to those of us who try to do it all alone that it’s okay to lean on our friends, they are our village, and we are theirs.
Process:
It painted in several layers, starting with soft pastels to achieve an interesting visual texture, followed by a layer of crackle paste to give the painting a feeling of dry heat, iridescent acrylic paint for an elegant shimmer, and finished by a layer of rich oil paint, which gives the piece a sense of depth.
The result is a unique piece that pulls the viewer in and gives a feeling of warmth to any room.
Materials:
The thick wooden frame is hand-built and mounted by a quality Italian Caravaggio canvas.

Background:
Inspired by a true story, the day our picnic boat tour on the canal was interrupted when we were attacked by a very protective daddy swan defending his young. Swans and Champagne is about that beautiful parental protection of our children.
Process:
The painting is created with charcoal drawing as an underpainting, acrylic washes, structure paste for texture, and finished with oil paint for depth and a timeless feel. Gold leaf details capture and reflect the light in a subtle and elegant way.

The frame is handmade and covered with Caravaggio cotton canvas, a professional material of the highest quality made in Italy.

Life of the Party is a contemporary portrait painted in an expressionist style that captures the magnetic energy of a woman who lights up any room as if the music, laughter, and late-night conversations are woven into the brushwork.
Background:
It is one of eleven paintings in the Motherfunk collection, created just before my son turned two, which explores the idea that mothers are everyday superheroes, filled with life experiences and stories. It is a celebration of the strength, perseverance and beautiful and wonderful everyday chaos of motherhood.
Materials:
The first layer of acrylics creates a visual texture of "chaos" from which the woman emerges, painted in bold strokes of purple with teal and dark yellow details. It is finished with oil paint to give depth, richness of colour, and a timeless expression.
The painting is varnished with a satin varnish that is not too glossy and provides long-lasting protection against dust and fading, ensuring many years of durability and visual enjoyment.
